The
artist Hans Burkhardt was born in Switzerland and studied at the
Cooper Unition from 1925 to 1928. From 1929 to 1936, he worked
in the Arshile gorky Studio, where he met and worked with Willem
de Kooning. Burkhardt's works are found in many museums throughout
the world, including Moderna Museet in Stockhom; Hirshhorn Museum
in Washington, D.C.; New York's Guggneheim Museum; and the Columbia
Museum of Art in South Carolina.
